Credentialed as a CPP (Certified Protocol Professional), she received her Certificates of Attainment from the The Protocol School of Washington®  and The Professional Image Institute, followed by extensive training from Dale Carnegie and Associates. She continues to focus on keeping her knowledge current by conducting surveys, attending frequent symposiums, and monitoring the business climate for emerging issues.

Global Protocol, Inc.

Global Protocol, Inc., began in 1985 as an image consulting company. The company went through a number of name changes before its incorporation as Global Protocol, Inc., which is a registered trademark in the United States and Canada.

The following timeline represents the growth of Global Protocol as it has expanded its areas of expertise:

1985-1990: Specializes in image consulting and developing professional presence.

1991: Addresses corporate etiquette and international protocol topics.

1994: Adds technology (e.g., etiquette) and workplace (e.g., civility)  issues.

1999: Global Protocol was incorporated (Global Protocol, Inc.). The business went in a new and updated direction. 

2000: Debuted a five-day certification training, Global Protocol Academy: A Comprehensive Course in Business Etiquette, Protocol, and Professional Presence. This coursework was offered from 2000 to 2008 and will be reintroduced in October 2014 with the completion of The Art of Professional Connections SME (subject matter expert) training modules.

2001: Global Protocol, Inc. applied and received certificates of registration from the United States Copyright Office for the Global Protocol handbooks:

  2. International Protocol Advantage
  3. How to Project Power, Presence, and Style

2003: Global Protocol® became a registered trademark in the United States.

2004: Global Protocol® became a registered trademark in Canada.

2007: Debuts new website,, which focuses on founder/president, Gloria Petersen’s career journey, topic range and presentation style.

2010: Renames the Global Protocol website to  “Global Business Protocol” to better define the brand. Global Protocol® remains as the corporate trademark within Global Protocol, Inc.

2011-2013: Debuts the four-book series, The Art of Professional Connections, author website: 

2014: Debuts SME (Subject Matter Expert) training modules based on the book series, The Art of Professional Connections

2016: Adds a sister website:, which focuses on training.
