Communicating with Personal Power, Poise, and Presence

Southwest Job Network
“Develop the Professional Presence that Sells Your Credentials”
Thank you for donating your time and expertise to our SJN. Your exercises were easy to perform and remember. “How things end can make a greater impression on people than how they begin.” As a musician, a good technique is to learn a new piece backward from the final segments to the first. This gives you confidence that the part you know absolutely the best is at the end. I have had a dozen interviews and each time I believe my interview “close” failed. I said the right things, but my delivery was not convincing. I have attended interview workshops at different organizations and they emphasized elements, but not delivery. Now I have the skills to perform an effective interview close. This will stay with me all of my life in both professional and personal encounters.”
—Cynthia Lasher

You often hear, “You never get a second change to make a good first impression.” This statement is intimidating when you have from seven to seventeen seconds to impress or not impress someone. I first attended Gloria’s Personal Power and Charisma workshop 2004 and I was hooked! Since then, I have hired Gloria for several workshops in different states. Over the years, I have used the techniques that I have learned from her and they have helped me boost my confidence whenever I find myself in an unfamiliar setting. Gloria, thank you so much! I look forward to working with you for many more years. Click here for more information about the SF-HAAC.”

“Thank you so much for your wonderful performance at the Etiquette Dinner. You are very knowledgeable, well organized, and extremely enthusiastic. This was a amazing opportunity for all to learn more about business etiquette. We sincerely appreciate your collaboration for the success of this event and are looking forward to continuing our relationship. Thank you!”
—Marie-Elene and the Business and Management Club, Northeastern Illinois University

“When an individual begins a career there is a lot of confusion entering a new and unfamiliar corporate climate. We quickly realized that even among the most educated students there is bound to be a vast cultural gap between the educational background from where they have come and that of the organization they are joining. Subsequently, we had a burning platform that indicated a need to close that gap as quickly as possible by providing intern training on corporate culture and etiquette.

After researching various training methods and opportunities, it was determined that Global Protocol could provide the expertise we sought to enhance our interns’ education in the critical areas of business and social etiquette, communication, and social intelligence. Gloria Petersen’s seminars provide a realistic approach to everyday situations encountered in today’s business arena. Mindful that business etiquette has to be adopted with ethics and integrity in clear view, Gloria provides insight into those subtle but critical behaviors that can make or break an important meeting, influence a first impression, or impress a potential client. We are entering our fourth year as partners with Global Protocol in this most important learning experience, and the program has become the highest rated program presented during our internship process.”

“e all enjoyed your presentation so much! I was amazed at the names you remembered and the topics of conversation you had with our members. To put this in your presentation was perfect! I know the attendees had fun also. We have received several nice messages stating the same. Thank you Gloria for making this luncheon one of our most successful!”
